Bachelor’s Program

The Food Technology program at i3L aims to fulfil the needs of the society for sustainable food quality, safety, and security. This field applies the principles of science to ensure safe manufacture, packaging, and distribution.

Students will complete a rigorous scientific curriculum that balances classroom lectures with practical sessions in our state-of-the-art laboratories. The Food Innovation Centre allows students to have trainings in our modern, on-campus food processing facilities, in which we strongly encourage our students to create innovative food products.

Relevant work experience is the key to a successful career in the increasingly competitive food industry. At i3L, we have broad industry networks and links to leading research organizations around the world to support students in finding suitable internships that can help them pave the way to their dream careers.

Over the past few years, advancements in the field of food technology have been focusing on the investigation on sustainable food development. Sustainable food development has become an interesting topic due to the evergrowing need for a stable and healthy food supply. We believe that the solution to these issues lies in the utilization of local biodiversity and the application of modern food processing technologies. The Food Technology program at i3L is designed to help students acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to become future food technologists. The program provides students with hands-on laboratory training and access to an extensive industry network. Our Food Technology program makes i3L the best place to be for students who aspire to be future food innovators.

IFT18 Conference in Chicago, USA

Winda, Karen Alissa, Rifta Nisha and Carissa Santoso, on getting their poster titled “Cocoa Powder Substitute from Naturally Fermented Jackfruit Seeds” accepted into the
IFT18 Conference in Chicago, USA.

SEAFAST International by Indofood

Samantha Tanardi and Natasya Khansa participated in the 2019 Food Product Development Competition, an event sponsored by SEAFAST-Indofood. They won the Top 10 Best Papers and Product Displays.

ASEAN Food Conference in Bali

Two of our students participated in the 16th ASEAN Food Conference 2019 which was held in Sanur, Bali, Indonesia. They did both oral and poster presentations on their research project at the conference.

FOSTER 2021

Three Food Technology students won the Best Overall Award at FOSTER 2021, held by Unika Soegijapranata.

Gold Award at National Paper Competition

Three of our students won Gold for Poster Category at the National Paper Competition, Dies Natalis 23 FTP, held by Brawijaya University.

1st Place at Pameran Inovasi Pangan 3.0

Our student won 1st place at Pameran Inovasi Pangan 3.0 by Sekolah Vokasi IPB and at Fanfestival 2022 held by Sahid University.

IISMA Awardees To USA, South Korea, and Taiwan

Six of our students have successfully become awardees of Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2021 and IISMA 2022. Congratulations to Maria Hajeng Paramita from Cohort 2018 (right side picture)  and Risha Lavelia Shfgard Serain from cohort 2019 as IISMA Awardee for University of California, Davis, USA. Followed by Irvandhi S. Winata from cohort 2018 (left picture) and Darren Delfino from cohort 2019 as IISMA Awardee for Korea University, South Korea. As well as Emilia Lestari and Alethea Nadine from cohort 2019 as IISMA Awardee for National Taiwan University, Taiwan.

MBM Acceleration Program

Master in Biomanagement (MBM) Acceleration Program is a Special Program designed for i3L & iSB students. By joining this program, the student can finish their Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree (S1 & S2) in just 5 years. 

If you are a current i3L or iSB student, then you can enroll in MBM Acceleration Program in the 6th semester and start in the 7th semester.
