Thursday, July 17, 2025 – i3L had the pleasure of welcoming the representatives of University of Otago School of Biomedical Sciences, Prof. Alexander McLellan and University of Otago International Market Manager Indonesia’s representative, Agatha Kanakamuni.

The meeting was attended by the Dean of School of Life Sciences, Rio Hermantara, S.Si., M.Biotech, Ph.D, the Head of Biomedicine department, dr. Almitra Rindiarti Ph.D, and faculty member of the Biotechnology department Mario Donald Bani S.P., M.Biotech from i3L side. Prof. Alexander McLellan Ph.D and Agatha Kanakamuni as representatives of the School of Biomedical Sciences University of Otago. The discussion covered various topics such as academic activities, students related initiatives, and further collaborations between two universities. With i3L’s strong focus on science and innovation, the university is actively seeking global partnerships that can provide its students with high-quality research experiences and exposure to international academic environments.

After the insightful and valuable discussions representatives from Universities of Otago are guided by i3L International Office representatives Vania Amelia S.T.P., M.Si and Marchia Rumkorem B.Sc., M.Sc., the campus tour exhibited i3L’s learning environment highlighting various facilities of i3L especially the laboratories.

This visit marks a prominent step towards establishing an academic collaboration between i3L and University of Otago. We look forward to the continuation of this discussion to drive scientific advancement, cultivate innovation, and to foster the development of i3L students with valuable academic and research opportunities.
