Background
Skincare is a range of products that support and enhance skin conditions; cleansers, creams, lotions, and serums, are some of the examples. Undoubtedly, skincare is considered as a ‘must-have’ for many people, as these products integrate into their daily routine as a necessity. No wonder, the innovation and market growth for skincare products remains unshaken, and is even expanding.
However, one of the most common skin problems, acne, remains a challenge for skincare product developers. Acne is quite common among teenagers and young adults, it causes not only physical damage to the skin, but also causes long-lasting psychological effects. Although a large variety of acne care products are available, yet the effectiveness has been limited due to the complexity of acne pathophysiology.
This ideation competition opens new opportunities for students to develop new ideas contributing to solving acne problems. We expect innovative and brilliant ideas from undergraduates from all backgrounds to design skincare products to treat and prevent acne, and further develop a prototype.
