Yohanes Raditya Wardhana, M.Sc.

Faculty of Food Science and Nutrition

Yohanes Raditya Wardhana was born in Malang and grew up in Bekasi, Indonesia. He, later, moved to Jogjakarta and is an alumnus of John De Britto High School. Afterwards, He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Process and Food Technology in Den Haag, The Netherlands at The Hague University of Applied Sciences in 2012. Directly, he pursued his Master’s Degree in Food Technology, with specialization of Food Biotechnology, at Wageningen University, The Netherlands and graduated in 2014.


He has a deep interest in food microbiology and fermentation area, which include fermented food, functional fermentation, and microbial functionality. Furthermore, he is passionate about the exploitation of biodiversity in fermented food and the molecular and metabolic functionality of bacterial starter culture.

  • Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Research Group Reproduction and Genetic, promoted by Prof. Dr. Claudia Spits; researched on “DNA Damage in hESC Cultured on Feeder-free Condition: The Impact of Cell Density”
  • Institut Teknologi Bandung, Department of Microbiology, Aquaculture Research Group, promoted by Dr. Gede Suantika; Researched on “Identification and Optimization of Indigenous Probiotic Bacteria Against Vibrio Harveyi Isolated from Hatchery of Litopenaeus vannamei Culture in Situbondo, East Java.”
    – Received the Program Hibah Strategis Nasional DIPA ITB Research Grant
