Merry Lianita – Ghent University LPDP Awardee: Navigating Master’s Pursuit and Soft Skills Development

Jakarta, 27th August 2024  Merry Lianita, an accomplished alumna of i3L’s 2017 Food Science and Nutrition study program, was awarded the prestigious LPDP scholarship. She chose to pursue her master’s degree at Ghent University, drawn by its unique programs and a welcoming environment for international students. Her decision to continue her studies at Ghent reflects the university’s reputation for fostering a conducive academic atmosphere in Belgium, often considered the capital of Europe.

Currently delving into a master’s program in Nutrition and Food Systems, Merry’s academic focus encompasses a scientific and technical approach to address prevalent issues in nutrition and food systems. Emphasizing the flexibility within the program, Merry highlights the opportunities for student exchanges and internships in her third semester, offering a platform to apply learned knowledge and bolster soft skills.

Post-graduation, Merry aspires to contribute to international organizations dedicated to enhancing food security and advocating for the right to food. Her ambitions extend towards engaging in policy-making endeavors and collaborating with grassroots movements as part of her professional trajectory.
