Biography

Livia Janica, M.Res. obtained her bachelor’s degree in food science and nutrition from the Indonesia International Institute for Life Sciences (i3L) in 2019 with a partial scholarship. During her undergraduate studies, she gained valuable industry experience through two prestigious internships at Danone Indonesia—spending one year in specialized nutrition (Nutrilon, Bebelac, SGM) and another year in the waters division (Aqua).

Driven by her passion for sustainability and innovation, Livia pursued a Master’s degree at the University of the Aegean, Greece, specializing in Global Innovation and Sustainability in the Food Industry and Nutrition. She secured a full scholarship for this program, further advancing her expertise in the intersection of food science and nutrition industry.

Before joining i3L, Livia had already built a strong foundation in various industries, where she applied and expanded her knowledge in consumer science, food industry marketing, and the creative sector. Her diverse professional experiences have allowed her to develop a multidisciplinary approach to food innovation, blending scientific research with consumer insights.

For her master’s thesis, Livia focused on consumer perception and behaviour toward a soy-sorghum biscuit for children aged 3-5 years old using a sensory and emotion science approach. Her research aimed to understand consumer preferences and emotional responses to sustainable food products, providing insights that can drive product development and market acceptance.
