i3L University and Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT) Explore Strategic Partnership for Short-Term Academic Programs

Jakarta, 29 January 2026 – i3L University (Universitas Bio Scientia Internasional Indonesia – UBSII) continues to expand its international network by welcoming a representative from the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). This visit marks the beginning of a strategic dialogue to enhance student mobility and foster academic collaboration between Singapore and Indonesia.

Dr. Cheow Wean Sin represented SIT University. Several representatives from i3L attended the meeting, including the Rector, Katherine, S.T, Ph.D, the Vice Rector of Institute Development, Sanjaya Mulya Waani, B.App.Sc., M.Sc., the Dean of the School of Health and Life Sciences, Rio Hermantara, S.Si., M.Biotech., Ph.D., the Rector’s Personal Assistant, Patricia Karissa, and the i3L International Office team, Vania Amelia and Marchia Rumkorem. 

Focusing on High-Impact Short Courses

The primary objective of the visit was to develop short academic courses, typically lasting one month or less. These programs are designed to deliver immediate gains for students, combining intensive learning with meaningful cultural exchange.

By focusing on short-term programs, i3L and SIT aim to provide students with:

  • Global Exposure: Gaining a perspective on international industry standards and academic environments.
  • Skill Acceleration: Intensive modules that provide practical gains in a condensed timeframe.
  • Cultural Competency: Building professional networks across the Singapore-Indonesia corridor.

A Firsthand Look at i3L’s Innovation Hub

Following the strategic discussion, Dr. Cheow was guided on an extensive campus tour. The tour showcased i3L’s vibrant learning ecosystem, highlighting our modern classrooms and advanced laboratory facilities. This firsthand experience demonstrated i3L’s readiness to host international students and provide a global environment for life sciences and health education.

Strengthening the Singapore-Indonesia Academic Corridor

This visit is a significant step toward a long-term cooperation that will strengthen ties between Singapore and Indonesia in the higher education sector. Both SIT and i3L University expressed strong enthusiasm for the upcoming phases of this partnership.
