i3L Competition Series 2024: Fostering Student Creativity in Food Innovation

Jakarta, 8th September 2024 – We are proud to announce the success of the i3L Competition Series (iCS) 2024. Aimed at high school students, this annual competition, attracted over 300 participants from 20 cities across Indonesia. With the theme “Healthy Heritage,” iCS 2024 encouraged students to create innovative food and beverage products that are not only healthy and sustainable but also rich in local cultural values.

Participants not only competed but also gained valuable insights through seminars led by Glenn Chandra, Head of Product Development at Kalbe Nutritionals. The finalists received hands-on guidance from i3L lecturers to develop their product prototypes, business ideas, and marketing strategies.

On September 8, 2024, the top ten finalist teams presented their innovative prototypes to a panel of judges that included i3L faculty and industry experts. Industry judges included Glenn Chandra from Kalbe Nutritionals, Christopher Verrell Suwanda from PT Indesso Culinaroma Internasional, and Dennis Guido, a food technologist and content creator at @naktekpang.

Hanny Angrainy, Head of the Food Technology Program at i3L and one of the judges, shared, “Through this competition, we witnessed the incredible creativity of high school students in creating food innovations that emphasize Indonesia’s local identity while staying relevant to global industry trends.”

Christopher Verrell Suwanda from PT Indesso Culinaroma Internasional was also impressed. “I was amazed at how these high school students could think through business details from A to Z, even mastering the technical aspects of food products,” he remarked.
