CSR Program at Gereja Katolik Rawamangun

Empowers Community with Packaging Design and Digital Marketing 

The CSR program, “Desain Kemasan Juara di Era Digital”, was held successfully at Gereja Katolik Paroki Keluarga Kudus, Rawamangun. This initiative aimed to equip community members with essential knowledge in packaging materials and design, food labeling, and digital marketing, providing them with valuable skills to thrive in today’s digital age.

Building Knowledge for the Digital Era

The event began with participant registration, followed by welcoming remarks from Romo Albertus Feri Asmarajati, MSF as the representatives from the Church, and representative from SABUK (Sentra Bimbingan Usaha Kecil) under the PSE (Pemberdayaan Sosial Ekonomi) division of Rawamangun Parish, Mr. Serafinus Vandy Wenanda. A pre-test assessed attendees’ existing knowledge, setting the groundwork for a day filled with interactive learning. The program, led by Miss Livia Janica, S.T.P., M.Res., had 4 highlighted sessions led by faculty members from i3L University.

Miss Eleonora Valentia Sode Muda, S.T.P., M.Sc. led the first session on Packaging Materials, where participants explored the importance of selecting materials that balance product safety, sustainability, and consumer appeal. The session featured real-world examples, helping attendees grasp how material choices directly influence customer perceptions.

Miss Widya Indriani, S.T.P., M.Sc.(MedSci) followed with a Food Labelling session, emphasizing regulatory compliance, nutritional transparency, and building consumer trust, especially vital for small food producers aiming to stand out while maintaining industry standards.

Strengthening Creativity and Visibility

Miss Amanda Bernadette Joanna, B.Sc., M.Sc. then guided the Packaging Design session, encouraging participants to infuse creativity into packaging as a core aspect of brand identity. The discussion highlighted how visually appealing packaging can enhance product visibility, brand recognition, and ultimately, sales.

Finally, the last session was Mr. Leonardo Thenov, S.T., M.B.A.’s session on E-commerce and Digital Marketing. He introduced key strategies for leveraging online platforms to enhance product visibility. Emphasis was placed on TikTok, showing participants how short-form content and engaging visuals can attract a wider audience and strengthen brand engagement.

This CSR initiative at Gereja Katolik Keluarga Kudus Paroki Rawamangun was made possible through the active engagement and leadership of i3L University, reflecting its commitment to community service and lifelong learning. As a university renowned for its interdisciplinary programs in life sciences, business, and innovation, i3L University brings academic rigor and practical insights to community outreach. 

The institution facilitated the program by mobilizing skilled facilitators, ensuring rich content, and creating a learning environment where both academic expertise and social responsibility intersect. This aligns closely with i3L University’s mission to drive real-world impact through its educational programs and social programs.

Community Engagement and Lasting Impact

To maintain energy throughout the event, engaging ice-breaking activities were interspersed among sessions, and goodie bags were distributed to create a welcoming atmosphere. A lunch break gave attendees time to network, share experiences, and reflect on what they’d learned. A post-test was administered at the end to gauge learning outcomes and reinforce the key takeaways.

By integrating packaging design and digital marketing within a practical learning environment, this CSR program provided tangible benefits for local entrepreneurs and community leaders. i3L University’s support ensured the initiative was both strategic and impactful, empowering participants to enhance product presentation and expand market reach in the digital ecosystem.
