Cell Culture Training 2024
Jakarta, 28th August 2024 – We are delighted to recount the successes of our 5th Cell Culture Training event, held from August 26th to 28th in Jakarta. This distinguished gathering, hosted in collaboration with i3L, Regenic, and the Stem Cell Institute, marked a significant advancement in our collective pursuit of excellence in cell culture.
The event began on a high note at the Kalbe Business and Innovation Center, where attendees were treated to a comprehensive manufacturing tour. This behind-the-scenes look offered invaluable insights into the latest industry practices and set the stage for the learning that followed.
The second day was dedicated to immersive lab sessions, where participants had the opportunity to put theory into practice. The hands-on activities included an introduction to cell culture and aseptic techniques, as well as essential procedures such as thawing, counting, and seeding cells. Participants also engaged in more advanced techniques, including cell harvesting, subculture, and cryopreservation. These practical sessions were designed to refine skills and build confidence in essential cell culture methodologies.
With almost 100 participants, including students, faculty members, company representatives, and the general public, Pharmanexa 2024 showcased a growing enthusiasm for pharmaceuticals scientific innovation both within and beyond the i3L community. One of the standout presentations was by Dr. Ria Christine Siagian, Head of Drug Registration at BPOM, who provided a comprehensive regulatory perspective on continuous manufacturing, process analytical technology, and real-time release testing. Noviani Rustanto’s presentation on “Process Analytical Technology in Revolutionizing the Pharma Industry” highlighted the transformative impact of this technology on pharmaceutical practices. Bart Stynen delivered an engaging talk on “Mastering Continuous Process Manufacturing in Pharmaceutical Processes” offering expert insights into optimizing manufacturing processes. Additionally, Ardhian Tirta Kusumawa’s presentation, “Real-Time Release Testing: Transforming the Pharma Industry” explored the significant changes this approach is bringing to the pharmaceutical sector.
Pharmanexa 2024 received positive feedback from attendees, including the keynote speaker and other guests. This response underscored the event’s success in building a collaborative environment that fostered meaningful exchanges of ideas and strategies. Furthermore, the event facilitated numerous networking opportunities, enabling professionals to forge connections, collaborate, and explore potential partnerships. The vibrant exchange of ideas was notably enriching for many attendees.

On the final day, the focus shifted to assessing participants’ knowledge and understanding through a structured examination. In addition, a specialized biosafety class was conducted, emphasizing critical protocols to ensure safe and effective laboratory environments. This comprehensive approach ensured that attendees were well-prepared to apply their skills in real-world settings.
