The Food Science and Nutrition study program at I3L addresses the growing demand for nutritious foods that support human health and well-being by providing a strong scientific foundation to examine food at the molecular, chemical, biological, and nutritional levels and to understand how these aspects influence its role in health. The program encompasses food composition and properties, including chemical and microbiological characteristics, as well as factors affecting quality and safety during processing and storage, while also exploring how nutrients are digested, absorbed, and metabolized and how dietary patterns impact health across different stages of life, enabling the ability to link food composition, nutritional value, and health outcomes. Supported by intensive hands-on laboratory experience, the program cultivates strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, preparing graduates to thrive in the dynamic food and health industries.
