Biography
Yafi Permana was born in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He earned his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) in 2021. He then pursued a Master of Science in Bio and Brain Engineering at the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), where he was awarded the KAIST scholarship. During his master’s studies, his research centered on the development of polyethylene glycol (PEG)-free lipid nanoparticle formulations for mRNA delivery. The research was supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT, Republic of Korea, and De Novo Biotherapeutics, a Korean biotechnology company.
After completing his master’s degree in 2023, he returned to UGM to pursue the Professional Pharmacist (Apt.) program, graduating in 2024 and receiving the Kalbe Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Award (KPMA). He then served as a Technology Development Scientist at PT Kalbe Farma Tbk., where he was involved in the development of new pharmaceutical products focusing on solid dosage forms.
