Bridging Arts, Science, and Cultural Research: SBM’s Dr. Andamar Pradipta Launches “Suar Berita Neraka”
Jakarta, 20 August 2026 — At i3L University, the boundary between rigorous scientific research and creative expression is not a wall, but a doorway. Embodying this interdisciplinary ethos is Andamar Pradipta, Ph.D., a faculty member at i3L’s School of Business and Management (SBM) and Head of the Global Research, Innovation, and Partnerships (GRIP) Center, which is the SBM’s flagship hub for driving multi-institutional research, commercial innovation, and global academic alliances.
Dr. Pradipta, an anthropologist specializing in business anthropology, business psychology, and modern esoteric phenomena in urban Indonesia, has been inspiring students at i3L since 2019. His research explores how alternative religious practices, urban spirituality, and human psychology interact with modern market dynamics. Now, he is bringing these complex academic themes to the literary world through his newly published novel, “Suar Berita Neraka”.
Set on New Year’s Eve in 1975, “Suar Berita Neraka” follows anthropologist Dr. Roman Ismail, who is abducted to investigate a gaping abyss—a gateway to hell. Forced to team up with the world’s most powerful figure, Roman must trust his senses and intellect to navigate the terrifying consequences of the discovery.
The novel reflects Dr. Pradipta’s deep fascination with the intersection of anthropology, sociology, and modern esoteric phenomena. Rather than keeping his insights confined to academic journals, he uses fiction as a creative lens to explore human belief and social dynamics.
Dr. Pradipta’s national book tour has already sparked discussions across major cultural hubs, including Bogor, Jakarta, and Jogjakarta, with additional tour dates and panel discussions scheduled nationwide.
Dr. Pradipta’s journey as an academic and novelist highlights a core pillar of i3L University: innovation thrives when discipline borders disappear.
Through his leadership at GRIP and his teaching at SBM, Dr. Pradipta actively advocates for an academic culture where students do not have to choose between the sciences and the arts. By championing an interdisciplinary mindset, he encourages students to be active and proficient in both creative and scientific pursuits.
The School of Business and Management at i3L University aims to create an ecosystem where creative work, be it a new piece of literature, business prototype, or artistic performance, is a powerful learning and market influence tool.
i3L is redefining modern higher education, inspiring faculty and students to publish books, develop startups, and lead creative initiatives. Dr. Pradipta’s “Suar Berita Neraka” is proof that when academic rigor meets creative freedom, the result is nothing short of extraordinary.
