Konvensi Sains, Teknologi, dan Industri Indonesia 2025:
Driving Innovation for Economic Growth
Thursday, August 14, 2025 — The Konvensi Sains, Teknologi, dan Industri Indonesia (KSTI) is a prestigious national convention that brings together scientists, academics, industry leaders, policymakers, and communities to shape the future direction of Indonesia’s research and technology. In 2025, the event was held on 7–9 August 2025 at Sasana Budaya Ganesa, Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), in conjunction with the National Technology Awakening Day (Hakteknas) celebration. Miss Katherine, S.T., Ph.D. and Miss apt. Pietradewi Hartrianti, M.Farm., Ph.D. from Indonesia International Institute for Life Sciences (i3L University) also joined KSTI 2025 as the official representatives of the campus.
KSTI 2025 featured a diverse agenda that included keynote speeches, plenary sessions, cross-sector panel discussions, technology and innovation exhibitions, and business matching between researchers and investors, as well as the signing of strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs). Discussions focused on eight national priority areas for research known as Asta Cita: food security, energy, defense, digitalization (Artificial Intelligence & semiconductors), health, downstreaming and industrialization, maritime, and advanced materials and manufacturing, alongside frontier science as a foundation for long-term innovation. The event was attended by notable national and international figures such as President Prabowo Subianto, Nobel Laureates Konstantin Novoselov and Brian Schmidt, leading scientists including Chennupati Jagadish and Lam Khin Yong, cabinet ministers of Indonesia, and top executives from state-owned enterprises and technology companies.
Through the Konvensi Sains, Teknologi, dan Industri Indonesia, policymakers aim to create research-based policies and strengthen synergy between academia, industry, and government. This activity produces strategic outputs such as building a new paradigm on the importance of knowledge and technology-based industry, promoting integrated multisector policies, and designing industry-based research to support the economic growth of Indonesia. By focusing on practical technology and inclusive development, KSTI plays a vital role in advancing towards Indonesia Emas 2045.
