LLDikti Region III Socialization Empowers Universities to Spark Science and Tech Literacy in Indonesia
Wednesday, August 6, 2025 — LLDikti Region III successfully held the Socialization of the IN-SAINTEK Program on Wednesday, 6 August 2025, as part of its ongoing effort to strengthen science and technology literacy in Indonesia’s higher education. The event served as an inspiring opportunity for higher education institutions to bridge the gap between science and society.
The socialization was organized by the DIKTISAINTEK through LLDikti Region III and was graciously hosted at i3L campus in East Jakarta. Chosen for its modern facilities and vibrant academic environment, i3L welcomed more than 70 offline attendees from 25 universities, and more than 100 participants joined the session via Zoom, marking a strong interest in science-driven community development.
The event began with the Indonesian national anthem and a short prayer, followed by a welcoming speech from i3L’s Rector, Ms. Katherine, S.T., Ph.D., who emphasized the importance of higher education institutions in bridging the gap between scientific research and public benefit. This was followed by opening remarks from Mr. Mulhadi, S.H., M.H., Head of Institutional Affairs and Partnerships at LLDikti Region III and Mr. Dedi Saputra, S.E., S.Sos., M.Pub.Pol., Head of the Science and Technology Ecosystem, Directorate of Dissemination and Utilization of Science and Technology, Kemdiktisaintek.
The main session featured expert presentations from Mr. Arif Hidayat, M.Si., Ph.D. Ed. from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Dr. Anton Timur Jaelani, S.Si., M.Si. from Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB), and Mr. Reinald Primulando, Ph.D. from Universitas Katolik Parahyangan under the theme: “Sinergi Kreasi Masyarakat dan Akademisi untuk Sains Teknologi Nusantara (SEMESTA)”. The discussion focused on practical models for public engagement, collaborative research, and inclusive STEM education.
As the session concluded, participants expressed enthusiasm about joining the upcoming In-SAINTEK program call for proposals, which offers funding and technical support for impactful science communication and outreach initiatives. As a higher education institution at the forefront of life sciences and innovation, i3L remains committed to supporting national education agendas like In-SAINTEK. By hosting forums like this, i3L fosters not only academic excellence but also a deep sense of community responsibility among its students and faculty.
