On May 19, 2022, for the first time again after the Covid-19 pandemic happened, i3L hosted a hybrid Powertalk event with a senior lecturer from the University of Dundee, Dr. Graham Christie, FHEA FPhysiol in the campus auditorium, where he brought up a lecture with the title of “The Physiology of Secretion and Action of Insulin”.
Dr. Christie started his talk by explaining the physiology of insulin secretion in pancreatic cells. He then described the effect of insulin deficiency which results in Diabetes. This is continued with a brief explanation of the current therapeutic interventions/treatment for diabetes and the exciting advances in the development of novel diabetic interventions around the world.
