Biography

Dr. Siti Muslimatun graduated from Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia, in 1991. She obtained her master’s degree in Nutrition from the University of Indonesia in 1996. In 2001, she finished her doctoral study in Human Nutrition at Wageningen University, Netherlands.

From 2002 to 2014, she worked for SEAMEO RECFON as the Deputy Director for Program Development and Consultancy, lecturer, and researcher. As a Deputy, she also initiated the South East Asia Nutrition Leadership Program (SEANLP) in 2002 where every year about 20-25 nutritionists from South East Asia were trained in leadership in nutrition for a week. 

She delivered lectures on Food and Nutrient Intervention, Nutrition Planning and Management, and Research Methodology as well as supervised several M.Sc. and Ph.D. students in the post-graduate program at Community Nutrition held by SEAMEO RECFON for the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia. In parallel, she also did research in the area of nutritional assessment, micronutrient deficiencies, and food security across Indonesia and in Timor Leste. 

In 2014, she joined the i3L Food Science and Nutrition Department and currently acts as the Head of Department. At present, she also holds the position of Scientific Country Committee for ILSI SEA Indonesia. She is also a member of the Advisory Panel on Asia Soybean Excellent Centre (ASEC) – Human Protein commissioned by the USSEC. She is the Editorial Member of the Malaysian Journal of Nutrition and Jurnal Gizi dan Pangan and serves as a peer-reviewer of many national and international journals.
