Biography
Richard Sutejo, S.TP., Ph.D. is an Indonesian national. He won the NTU Ph.D. Scholarship program in 2006 and received his Doctorate in Biological Sciences from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2011. He came from various life-science backgrounds: Food Science and Technology, Biomedicine, and Bioinformatics.Prior to pursuing his doctorate degree, Dr. Richard Sutejo taught Food Microbiology, Food Biochemistry, and Food Processing Microbiology courses at the University of Pelita Harapan, Indonesia.
While pursuing his Ph.D., Dr. Richard Sutejo worked as Research Staff. Upon the completion of his doctorate study, he joined the Department of Physiology of the National University of Singapore as a Research Fellow. His main interest is host-pathogen interactions in the field of, but not limited to, virology/microbiology and -omics analysis. He is currently focusing his research on relevant state-of-the-art Biomedicine research and leveraging Indonesia-based biodiversity, such as studies on infectious disease-host interaction, molecular study on infectious diseases, investigating the role of bioactive compounds and its effect on the molecular mechanism, stem cell and regenerative medicine, and skin biology and health.
