Biography

Pramesti Istiandari, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D. was born in Bandung, Indonesia. She received her bachelor’s degree in Bioengineering, Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia in 2016. Upon bachelor’s graduation, she worked as an Academic and Research Assistant with research focus on bioproduct technology. She obtained Master and Doctoral Degree Scholarship Award from Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, Japan, in 2017, and received her doctoral degree in Department of Biotechnology, Osaka University, Japan in 2022. She was awarded as the best presenter during Master program in the department.

During her Ph.D. program, she worked with genome editing tool CRISPR-Cas9 for gene functional analysis in planta for improving heterologous production of triterpenoids through metabolic engineering in yeast. Her current research interests include plant biotechnology, plant secondary metabolism, microalgae culture and application, and bioproduct technology.
