On October 12, 2023, the i3L School of Business organized a factory tour to PT. Liwayway Oishi Indonesia in Cikarang, Bekasi. Participants gathered at the i3L campus lobby before departing at 8 am. After a warm welcome by Oishi employees from the Marketing Division, students were ushered into a meeting room for a presentation covering the company’s history, profile, and production processes, specifically focusing on two of its products, Oishi Pillow and Oishi Prawn Crackers.
Following the insightful presentation, students embarked on a tour of the production building. They witnessed the operation of large machines, observed raw materials, gained insights into the production flow, and learned about the automation machine used for packaging. Additionally, they had the opportunity to visit the Oishi Sponge facility.
The tour was guided by an Oishi employee who explained the production process in detail and generously provided students with complimentary samples of Oishi sponge chocolate flavor. Participants adhered to health regulations, wearing masks and shower caps before entering the production area. The tour concluded with an engaging quiz, with enthusiastic participation from the students. Three winners were awarded prizes, while all participants received goody bags.
This factory visit to Oishi Indonesia proved to be exceptionally insightful, providing an enriching and valuable learning experience for students majoring in International Business Management, Food Science and Nutrition, and Master of BioManagement.
