Benchmarking Visit from Universitas Negeri Malang to I3L
On May 7, 2024, Universitas Negeri Malang (UM) conducted a benchmarking visit to the Indonesia International Institute for Life Sciences (I3L). The primary goal of this visit was to benchmark the International Class and Laboratory Development of the Biotechnology Undergraduate Program, which is part of the Department of Applied Sciences at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at UM.
The visit included a series of presentations and discussions focused on the structure and curriculum of I3L’s International Class, which has been recognized for its innovative approach to education and research in the life sciences. The delegation from UM, consisting of faculty members and administrative staff, was particularly interested in exploring ways to enhance their own biotechnology program by incorporating best practices and strategies observed at I3L.
Additionally, the visit aimed to increase potential collaboration and research opportunities between the faculties of both side. By fostering these connections, Both I3L & UM hopes to enhance the academic and research capabilities of their programs, benefiting both students and faculty members.
This benchmarking visit marks an important step towards strengthening the partnership between Universitas Negeri Malang and I3L, paving the way for future collaborations that will contribute to the advancement of biotechnology education and research in Indonesia.
