MELINDA SISWANTO, M.Eng (Biomedical)
FACULTY OF BIOMEDICINE
Melinda Siswanto, M.Eng (Biomedical), B.Bmed grew up in Yogyakarta, Indonesia and an alumnus of The University of Melbourne. She completed her Bachelor of Biomedicine degree in Bioengineering System with a minor in Finance in 2013. While completing her Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, she received Summer Research Scholarship program at the Swinburne University of Technology in 2014 which gave her the opportunity to work with nanoparticles on stem cells to manipulate the behavior of cells for optical simulation in the future. In her final year of study, she designed an optogenetic stimulator that can be fully implanted in the experiment subjects, implemented to improve current cochlear implant and other electrical implanted stimulator in the future. In 2017, she worked as a laboratory demonstrator, teaching students with hands-on experiments to design a biomedical device using basic electrical components and biomedical sensors.
Melinda is a biomedical engineer with deep understanding in multidisciplinary areas of biomedical engineering including medical imaging, biomechanics, tissue engineering, clinical trial and regulation, and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) who is passionate about combining technology with biomedical research to make an impact in the healthcare sector.
